The Black version Practical Plus Katana provides a very economical cutting sword as dependable as the Practical Katana , but using more traditional and durable iron fittings and construction methods. The blackened blade is forged using T10 steel and differentially tempered (59HRc edge, 40HRc back) and the hamon is prominent with full hand polished. The Practical Plus features genuine Same (Rayskin) on the Tsuka, with hishigami while tsuka-maki specially developed for its gripping qualities, extremely tight ito wrap and full. The long tang is double-pegged for security. the handsome Tsuba is of an iron "simplicity" design with a brass habaki.
The saya is finished in a deep black lacquer with a black quality thick sageo. color of saya, ito, rayskin can be change as your personal preference.
