The Aikuchi katana has a hand forged blade made of T10 steel with a fine hamon and has been tempered traditionally. It is characteristic for this katana, that it features no guard (tsuba). The sharp blade features a hi (fuller) to reduce the total weight. The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, has been coated with real rayskin. In addition it has been traditionally wrapped in cotton ito with hishigami, extreme tight and geometric. The tang is especially long and fixed with two bamboo peg (mekugi). The scabbard quality lacquered and come with black horn koiguchi, kurigata and kojiri and the blade collar (habaki) is made of brass.
