The Aikuchi katana has a hand forged blade made of T10 steel with a traditional Clay tempered suguha hamon. It is characteristic for this katana, that it features no guard (tsuba). The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, has been coated with real rayskin. In addition it has been traditionally wrapped in quality synthetic silk ito with hishigami, extreme tight and geometric. The tang fixed with two bamboo peg (mekugi). The scabbard are made out of natural rose wood with black horn koiguchi, kurigata and kojiri and the blade collar (habaki) is made of brass.
